Issa Rae has officially tied the knot! The Lovebirds actress took to Instagram to announce her secret wedding to her new husband Louis Diame.

While some of us dream of a beach destination wedding, Rae and her husband packed their bags and took off for Southern France to have an intimate wedding ceremony on July 25. The actress and writer confirmed the news with a string of photos, which featured a custom Vera Wang gown and comedic caption.

“A) Impromptu photo shoot in a custom @verawang dress. B) My girls came to help me, but they all coincidentally had on the same dress! They were sooooo embarrassed. C) Then I took a few flicks with somebody’s husband. Big thanks to @whiteedenweddings for being so gracious and accommodating and making this feel so real and special,” she wrote.

The dress featured a classic sweetheart neckline and Chantilly lace with hand-sewn beading. Later on, the actress changed into another custom Vera Wang dress for her reception, which was a crepe A-line gown with a plunging V-neck, layered tulle skirt, and a front slit, according to WWD.

Rae isn’t the first celebrity to have stepped out in two custom Vera Wang gowns. In fact, Ariana Grande debuted two looks for her wedding back in May of this year, and Gwen Stefani's wedding dress to country singer Blake Shelton was also Vera Wang.

The ceremony photos came as a surprise as the Insecure creator and star tends to keep her relationships private. Some fans were even confused at first as to whether the actress had actually gotten married, or if it was just a classic Issa Rae joke. When looking at the comments from the star’s close-friends, including Grey’s Anatomy actress Kelly McCreary, it’s clear that Rae was serious this time.

“ISSAAAA OMG!!! Congratulations!!!!!!! You are an absolute vision!!!! So so so overjoyed for you!!!!” McCreary commented.
