Dame Julie Andrews is launching her own book-themed podcast

By Lucy Buglass
If you want something relaxing to listen to during the coronavirus lockdown, Dame Julie Andrews' new podcast is the perfect choice.
This week, we'll be able to tune into the podcast Julie's Library: Story Time with Julie Andrews and listen to a new book.
They'll be read by the actress and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton.
With more people choosing to enjoy books as a result of lockdown, this has arrived at a wonderful time to help us unwind.
Julie Andrews said, "As a child, I read anything and everything I could get my hands on. There was no greater joy for me than to curl up with a good read.
"Books transported me away from the World War II Blitz and into the realm of my imagination and other worlds and ideas."
“When I became a parent, I passed the love of reading on to my children.”
Julie and Emma have co-authored over 30 books aimed at children and young adults.
They've taken their passion for storytelling and turned it into a podcast to help people switch off.
She added, "It is our hope that the stories and ideas we share on Julie’s Library will provide family listening pleasure, inspire meaningful conversations, and be a trusted resource for literary enjoyment and learning.
“At this extraordinary time, with families confined to their homes and in need of creative content and learning support, we have accelerated the show’s launch in order to bring it to audiences as soon as possible.”
The new podcast already has an Instagram page, where they shared a preview for fans.
An update read, 'Hello, world! 👋Starting April 29th, you can join @JulieAndrews and Emma Walton Hamilton on Wednesdays for storytime! 📚✨
'They’ll share their favorite new children's books, and much more. 🎉'
It will be a weekly podcast posted every Wednesday, and can be found via Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
