Ben Shepherd left embarrassed on GMB after nipple slip up

Ben Shepherd accidentally confused the word ‘nostril’ and ‘nipple’ in a hilarious mistake on Good Morning Britain when discussing Susanna Reid’s dress. 

In a Good Morning Britain segment about projecting images onto green screens, the GMB team projected Ben Shepherd’s face onto Susanna’s green dress. “Susanna is wrapped in the warmth of a Ben blanket,” He said and then accidentally remarked, “My nipples are - My nipples?” Susanna laughed and said “What?!”

Susanna jokingly asked, “Did your inner thoughts come out on national television in front of millions Ben Shephard?” Ben hastily tried to correct himself and said, “Nostrils! They’re very easily confused.” Ranvir Singh laughed as he joked that Ben had made a “Freudian slip.”

Fans have found this whole incident hilarious and many have taken to Twitter to share their delight as Ben squirmed. One fan said, “This made me belly laugh, poor Ben he couldn't backtrack no matter how hard he tried even doc said I can't help you Ben.” 

Another said, “Omg I love love Ben Shepherd! Please please keep him on he makes the show! So many qualities, charming, handsome, kind, polite, courteous, let’s people speak, now we just need Kate beside him.” 

Ben Shepherd usually hosts the show with Kate Garraway on Thursday and Friday mornings, but since Piers Morgan’s abrupt departure, he has also been co-hosting with Susanna Reid earlier in the week.

ITV denied that they have replaced Piers with Ben and stated, “Ben is an existing part of the GMB presenting family and all will continue to share the presenting duties across the week.”

Fans have so far loved Ben's chemistry with Susanna and appreciate the close relationship that he has with both of his co-hosts Susanna and Kate.

Ben recently supported his fellow Good Morning Britain co-host, Kate Garraway on Twitter. When Kate's documentary, Kate Garraway: Finding Derek, aired, Ben said, “So proud of my friend @kategarraway she continues to surprise, delight, occasionally infuriate but always inspire me. Thinking of Kate, her family and anyone who is battling Covid or has lost someone close to them to the virus. #FindingDerek”
