Strictly Come Dancing will be sashaying back on to our screens on Saturday September 9th. Ahead of the first show of the season, Sunday saw the Strictly Come Dancing launch begin series 15 with a bang, as all of this year’s contestants, professional dancers and the new panel of judges came out in force to begin the countdown to the first show of 2017.
The professionals showed off their usual toe-tapping moves and immaculate timing with a few choreographed moves, whilst we also got our very first glimpse of the Strictly Come Dancing 2017 celebrity contestant’s moves.
Also, for the first time since her appointment as head judge was announced, Shirley Ballas stepped out with the other three judges at the Strictly launch.
Whilst Shirley was all smiles as she posed with Darcey Bussell, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli, she had some fighting talk for the celebrities competing for the disco ball trophy.
“I don’t think I need my 10 panel at the moment” new judge Ballas joked at the launch after seeing the moves of the new celebrity Strictly contestants.

However, the new judge did reveal that she might not be as harsh on the contestants as her fellow judge Craig Revel Horwood, “It’s never too early to get a 10 from Shirley!” she sung.
One such contestant looking to impress the judges is Loose Women presenter and This Morning host Ruth Langsford. The 57-year-old looked gorgeous and glam after her ‘Strictly makeover’, bedecked in sequins and sporting a new glam hairstyle.
Earlier in the evening, Ruth shared a behind-the-scenes picture of her “miracle” team beginning her Strictly transformation for the evening. The presenter seemed to be enjoying donning her sequins for the evening, and certainly stepped out with a smile to shake her stuff for the cameras!

Also looking glam on the red carpet for the glitzy launch were presenters Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daley. The pair looked closer than ever as they arrived hand in hand for the Strictly launch.

Someone who was very much in everyone’s thoughts at the Strictly launch was the late Sir Bruce Forsyth who passed away on Friday 18th August.
Louise Rainbow, the show’s executive producer, said, “The thoughts of everyone here are still very much with Sir Bruce’s family.
“Of course, we will be paying tribute to Sir Bruce at our launch show and this will include a heartfelt performance from our Strictly professional dancers.
“We all want to celebrate him and all that he loved about the show. Sir Bruce was, and will always be, a huge part of Strictly Come Dancing.”
While everything seemed to be running smoothly at the Strictly launch, there is reportedly already drama behind the scenes of the show. While the widow of the late Paul Daniels, Debbie McGee, was present as the launch show, dressed in a bright pink and red dancing dress.

However, rumours are already rife that the star has already counted herself out of the Strictly final by committing to other projects that clash with the dates of the Strictly final!
The performer is meant to be appearing in a pantomime that starts before Strictly finishes, so it seems that although Debbie’s odds for winning sit at just 20-1, the star isn’t backing herself to get very far in the show either!
