Adam Levine jokes close friends Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton ‘can’t afford' him singing at their wedding
He's revealed he'd be 'honored' but doubts they will ask
Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine has joked about the possibility of friends Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton hiring him to sing at their upcoming wedding.
The singers are not only friends, but former colleagues, with Blake and Adam having worked together on The Voice as rival coaches. It was on the set of the hit singing show that Gwen and Blake are understood to have met after she joined as a coach the series after Adam left.
Gwen has recently spoken about the secret behind her youthful complexion and how she believes it’s all down to her love for Blake. The two announced their engagement in October 2020 and fans are waiting excitedly for the two to finally tie the knot.
And it seems singer and musician Adam would happily perform at their wedding - though the Maroon 5 star isn’t at all convinced they’d ask him…

During a recent appearance on SiriusXM's The Morning Mash Up, he discussed whether he'd be performing at the upcoming wedding, joking, "They can't afford me."
Speaking more seriously, he revealed that the pair “haven’t asked” him, though the musician “would love” and “be honored” to perform for them at their wedding.

But whilst this might be the wedding performance fans have been dreaming of, he continued: "They won't ask me though. They'll probably get like Luke Bryan or somebody."

Despite his feelings that it’s unlikely they’d ask him to sing, Adam then revealed that he’d just been texting Blake and Gwen before his interview appearance.
"I love them so much. Just so funny you mentioned them cause I just texted them 10 minutes ago, just like, 'I miss you guys. I love you guys.' Yeah, they're the best," he explained.
Who else might perform at Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s wedding?
Blake and Gwen may not have asked Adam to perform at their wedding, but it seems he might have some stiff competition for this important role.
Tweeting earlier this year, fellow singer Miley Cyrus, who has also previously been a coach on The Voice, offered to perform for the couple.
ALSO @gwenstefani @blakeshelton I’ll be your wedding singer! I promise to be on my best behavior. Or worst. whatever you want! It’s your special day! Cheers to loving you both almost as much as you love each other! 💗🥰 https://t.co/iz21PDiRGSFebruary 1, 2021
‘I’ll be your wedding singer!’ she wrote. ‘I promise to be on my best behavior. Or worst. whatever you want! It’s your special day! Cheers to loving you both almost as much as you love each other!’
It’s not yet known who Gwen and Blake might choose, though as singers themselves, we’re sure they’ll ask someone brilliant for their big day.
Whether it could be Adam Levine after all remains to be seen.
