Gwen Stefani admits growing older in the spotlight has been a journey she’s struggled with.

But now, aged 51 (we couldn't believe Qwen Stefani's age either), Gwen said she thinks she looks the best she’s ever looked. And it’s all down to love.

Having recently become engaged to The Voice US co-star, Blake Shelton, it’s fair to say Gwen is pretty smitten.

“Blake is the greatest guy. I look back over the past few years and look at pictures of when I first started kissing Blake, and I look the best I’ve ever looked in my life in those photos,” she said in an interview with Stellar magazine.

“Love must look good on me. I feel like that does show through – it really does.”

Although she seems confident, Gwen admitted she felt “insecure” before Blake popped the question last year.

Blake finally got down on one knee in October, over five years after they met on The Voice US, where they were both coaches. And the singer has now admitted that she was beginning to think he'd never propose!

Speaking on The One Show, Gwen - who recently asked this celebrity to be her maid of honor - said, "It was totally unexpected. I had just had my birthday and he had told my dad I guess and had the ring for a couple of weeks before. I had no idea."

Gwen added, "In fact, I was going like, 'Man, we have been together for like six years now. What is happening with us' in my brain, like getting a little bit insecure. And so it happened all right on time for us."

She also gushed about how Blake, 44, asked her to marry him in front of their children.

Gwen said, "He had the ring inside this little cupboard which was to the side and he said, 'Oh can you get me a fire starter out of there' and I opened the cupboard and there was this big, gigantic diamond and I was like, 'Are you serious? Are you serious?

"Kingston my son was sitting right there and everybody came around and saw what was happening and everyone was crying."
