The Last Letter From Your Lover: Jojo Moyes' new book

We fell in love with Jojo Moyes’ witty, humorous and unashamedly romantic writing when Me Before You hit bookshelves in 2012.

And, luckily for fans, the big screen adaptation didn’t disappoint, with Emilia Clarke and Sam Caflin bringing the much-loved characters of Lou and Will to life wonderfully.

But before Me Before You, there was The Last Letter From Your Lover, Jojo’s 2010 novel, which tells the tale of a journalist who discovers a trove of secret love letters, dating back to the 1960s.

The book’s sold a huge three million copies since its release and fans of the novel will be pleased to hear that a film adaptation is now in the works, with filming just about to begin in Mallorca. The film is set between London and the Riviera.

The Last Letter From Your Lover tells the tale of Jennifer, a 1960s woman who wakes up with no memory of her life after a car accident. After returning home to her husband, she finds a letter from a mystery man, asking her to run away with him.

The story unfolds through the letters between Jennifer and her lover, which were found in modern-day London by journalist Ellie.

Who will star in The Last Letter From Your Lover?

Jennifer will be played by Big Little Lies star Shailene Woodley, while Downton Abbey’s Felicity Jones will star as journalist Ellie. Other cast members include Callum Turner from The Capture and rising star Ncuti Gatwa, who played Eric in Sex Education.

The Last Letter From Your Lover will begin filming in Mallorca on 14 October. A release date hasn’t been confirmed.
