Move over, Stanley - Ninja's new tumbler comes with a blender and food processor attached (and it's seriously powerful)

Everyone and their mother has a Stanley cup wedged in a bag or cupholder right now. Mine's no exception - it goes everywhere with me, filled with water, iced coffee, Huel and whatever gets me through the day. But as someone who cooks a lot at home, always trying to bring fresh food and more fibre to the table (and on the go), a tumbler that just holds liquid has always felt like it was leaving something on the table. So when Ninja announced the CrushBOSS, a tumbler that comes with a full blender and food processor attached, I knew it had to be something special. Because Ninja don't launch products for the sake of it, they launch because they know they can beat the best (even if that means beating themselves).

My favourite blender, food processor, and portable blender are already used daily, sometimes multiple times a day. But that also means two big appliances permanently camped out on my counter, on top of the tumbler collection by the door. And as someone raised to be a minimalist, that winds me up.

So when I saw an appliance that covers three functions, including a proper to-go tumbler, in one base, hailed as the "most powerful" blender in all of its early reviews, I was nothing short of thrilled to see it come to market.

The CrushBOSS is Ninja's new 3-in-1 kitchen prep system, combining a full-size blender, a food processor, and a personal blending tumbler onto a single 1200-watt motor base. Rather than three separate appliances (and a separate tumbler) taking up three separate patches of worktop, you get one power base and three interchangeable vessels: swap the jug for the food processor bowl, or clip on the 710ml tumbler when you just want a smoothie to take with you.

It's the bit that makes it more than a novelty for me - your Stanley cup can't make you a smoothie, your blender can't come with you on the commute, and your food processor normally needs its own shelf in the kitchen. This one pre-empts all of your quibbles and, from early reviews, seems to solve problems that you didn't know you even had (including blending ice in a tumbler).

Ninja is also the UK's number one food processor brand by sales, which is another reason to be excited about this launch. This isn't a brand dipping a toe into a new category to chase a trend, it's the market leader doubling down on a system it already knows works. And I've sworn by these models from Ninja as some of the best blenders and most impressive food processors for the four years that I've been spending testing them.

The blender is used daily for my smoothie bowls and a dinner hardly goes by without the food processor. Often, when I'm testing a new model on the market, I find myself comparing it to all the Ninja features that I love and don't miss until they're gone. Ninja really is brilliant for thinking through the little details: the way each product clicks into place, the way that it's easy to clean, the versatility, and in the case of the CrushBOSS, its power.

Underneath the swap-and-go design is really clever engineering. The XL 13cm feed chute on the food processor is wide enough to take whole fruit and vegetables, which is a rare feature to have on a food processor - most are 5cm at most. It means you have to do less chopping before and you'll get more of the fibre-rich skins, cores and pulp after.

VesselDetect technology recognises which attachment is fitted, tumbler included, and automatically calls up the right program for it, and three SmartMenu pre-sets (SmoothSense, PrepIQ, and Custom) take the guesswork out of blending and processing, so you're not stood there guessing whether it's a 20-second pulse or a 2-minute blitz. I don't know the technical details behind it, but Ninja's IQ settings are always like having a sous chef, in my experience of Ninja air fryers as well as blenders.

If, like me, you're juggling multiple appliances for the sake of getting food on the table quickly, and your tumbler collection is doing nothing but holding water, this is the fix that you need and it's one that will see you through years.

At £239.99, it's not a casual buy, but priced against three separate appliances (and yes, a decent tumbler on top), it starts to look less like a splurge and more like a consolidation. It's a natural fit for anyone leaning into more plant-based, fibre-focused cooking: smoothies, nut butters, homemade nut milks, and soups all benefit from that extra power and whole-ingredient capacity.

The 710ml BlendBOSS tumbler is the headline act for me, as someone who likes a smoothie and a protein shape on the go. It's also the reason this whole system earns the Stanley comparison in the first place.

Cupholder-friendly with a to-go sip lid and straw, it's less an accessory and more the reason a busy parent or commuter could justify the whole system, turning a five-minute blend into a smoothie you take with you out the door. Stanley just never had a food processor attached.

I'd be excited by any brand offering these credentials, but Ninja has built up such an impressive reputation, I know this could earn permanent residence next to the kettle (with the tumbler getting picked up on the way out the door). It's a smart consolidation of your favourite appliances - and I'm already in line for mine.
