These New Balance x Miu Miu sneakers are too cool for words—grab them before they sell out
The sneakers of dreams have finally landed...
To many, New Balance is the quintessential sneaker brand of the '80s and '90s, mostly thanks to its 327 shoes, which garnered fans from all over the world.
But now, Kate Middleton's favorite brand has made a huge comeback by teaming up with luxury fashion label Miu Miu to release a stunning sneaker collaboration that is already selling out.
First revealed during Miu Miu's spring 2022 runway show at Milan Fashion Week, the denim shoes are a reimagined take on the brand's 574 model. They are available in dark-wash blue, optic white, and khaki brown and, although at $695 they don't come cheap, they are incredibly popular already.
574 denim sneakers, $695 | New Balance x Miu Miu
A hybrid design, this sports shoe is entirely reinterpreted in denim with raw-cut frayed edges, part of a construction process exposed to underline the spontaneity of these actions.
The 574 model is, after all, a classic one: first introduced in 1988, it went through a slew of changes throughout the years. This new version is made of durable denim that actually looks intentionally distressed and it also boasts a Miu Miu logo (and not the New Balance model number that other sneakers usually feature) on its tongue.
This is Miu Miu's first sneaker collaboration (the brand is known for sparkly flats, furry moon boots, and block heels, when it comes to footwear), a fact that makes the shoes even more of a must-have and explains why pre-order numbers were sky-high before an official drop date was even announced.

If you just can't get your hands on the new product, worry not! New Balance has a ton of other (cheaper) designs to choose from, plus a number of other collaborations that are certainly worth noting.
The New Balance x STAUD shoe, also based on the iconic 574 design but updated with "bold, exaggerated details inspired by styles from the '80s and '90s." Think reflective trims, the signature oversized "N" branding and flared midsoles. The price tag? A much more affordable $150.
