Over the past 15 years Hush has steadily grown into one of the UK’s leading fashion and lifestyle labels.
They position themselves as a brand for the modern day woman, who loves fashion, but isn’t a slave to it. Somehow they still fly under the radar, but we suspect not for long as it's now one of John Lewis & Partners most searched for fashion brands.
Founder, Mandy, moved from Australia to the UK in 2001 with her now husband and business partner, Rupert. She created the brand during her first English winter, where she found herself spending more time at home, adapting to the dark, cold winter. She wanted to enjoy that time in nice and comfortable clothing, but couldn't find what she wanted anywhere, so in 2002 launched Hush. It started as a website and small catalogue selling pyjamas and loungewear. Fast-forward 17 years and the still privately owned company now has nearly 300k active monthly customers.
Having progressed from just pyjamas and loungewear, Hush now offers a range of daywear, nightwear, footwear and accessories. Their designs interpretate classic shapes in a contemporary way, creating clothing that are easy-to-wear, make you feel amazing, and collect you lots of compliments!
In the words of Mandy herself, “I want to look good, but I don’t want to spend hours doing so. I want to be comfortable, but not at the expense of style. So, we’ve always made clothes that look great, but are also versatile, practical and very wearable.”
The fashion team's Hush Edit
We've picked out our top 6 favourite best-selling pieces, online at Hush right now.
Boiler suits are still hot trends this season, Hush have combined it with soft linen creating an easy-to-wear, but fabulously statement piece that we're obsessed about! Pair with trainers, flats or even dress it up for an evening with heels and a glitzy bag.
Choose your loungewear but make it in style. The neutral tone makes it an easy to wear piece, perfect for lazy days at home while the contrasting seams adds a pop of colour.
These gorgeous tailored shorts will keep you fresh yet smart on hot summer days. Either in beige or black, these will look great with a knit top or linen shirt and espadrilles.
You can’t go wrong with the combo animal print + midi skirt. Versatile and modern, this piece will see you through all seasons. Pair it with a light jumper and trainers for spring or with a sleeveless cami and flats on warm days.
Add a fun twist to your regular joggers with rainbow stripes. You won’t feel guilty about wearing loungewear outside your home.
A ditsy floral dress is a spring summer wardrobe staple. This relaxed fit one features a shirt collar and gathered waist. Just what you need to enjoy park strolls and alfresco lunches.
We agree with Mandy, the founder of Hush, her clothes are versatile, practical and very wearable. Though we'd add one more adjective to the list too: (mega) stylish!
