If you love hot chocolate but have never made one from scratch and always use the powdered forms, you won't believe just how easy it is. Within minutes you can have a really indulgent, really comforting mug of hot chocolate that's perfect served up in your favourite mug with plenty of whipped cream or marshmallows... Or both!
You might also like to try your hand at making homemade chocolate curls with which to decorate your hot chocolate. They're definitely worth the extra effort, especially if you have friends pop by and you want to do something that really sets your hosting skills apart.
Hot chocolate definitely is one of the most comforting things you could make yourself when needing a bit of warming up - there's nothing quite like snuggling up on the sofa or in bed with a big hot mug of it. This recipe is even more-so indulgent because it uses real chocolate, rather than powder. You can't make this hot chocolate with water like you would the soluble powders, you must make it with milk, but if you can't drink cow milk, you can just as easily make it with soy, or nut milks. You can even try an oat milk if you like.
