Lockdown has had us all stuck in the house for months trying to keep ourselves and our families entertained.
Many of us have had to be away from family and friends and a lot of us have had to cancel holidays and trips away that we had booked before the coronavirus pandemic hit.
So most of us are desperate to get away for a few days, even if it is just for a staycation somewhere in the UK.
And it seems like Brits are looking to make the most of the holiday destinations available to us here in the country during a time when there is some uncertainty surrounding overseas travel, as searches for certain types of holiday rentals have shot up.
According to statistics released by Google, there are five holiday search terms that have shot up in the last week – and you may be surprised by the number one.
Brits are obviously keen for some fresh air and outdoor activities because the number one travel search term, which has shot up by 400 per cent in the last week, is ‘Cornwall caravan holidays’.
And with people naturally worried about the precarious nature of currently booking a trip and some concerned about a second coronavirus peak, 'holiday insurance coronavirus' was the second most-searched travel term, up 350 per cent.
It seems like Brits could be looking to replicate their otherwise overseas holidays, as 'holiday cottages with hot tubs' came in third place, up 300 per cent, and 'holiday homes with pools' and 'holiday cottages by the sea' came joint 4th, with searches up 250 per cent.
