Speaking on Internet sports show House of Rugby, Zara Tindall has detailed her relationship with the royal family, including her grandmother, the Queen.

The equestrian star, 37, had a lively discussion about a dream royal rugby team alongside husband Mike Tindall and presenter Alex Payne. And all three of them agreed that the Queen would be captain – no surprises there!

Alex later asked Zara and Mike what kind of captain the Queen would be, to which the royal couple responded that she would hold a “quiet authority” and give a “couple of key bullet points, with a glance of an eye.”

Alex also wanted to know whether Zara had been on the receiving end of her grandmother’s steely gaze.

“I always get the good look,” Zara replied, before adding that she rarely got the “bad look” from the Queen.

“We are okay,” Zara added. “I think we are alright. Probably when we were much younger, but not recently, definitely not.”

During the interview, Zara, Mike and Alex also discussed which actor would play Zara in a future series of Netflix’s The Crown - if the drama series carries on into the present.

“I hope it doesn’t get that far,” Zara joked, before musing over who she would like to act the part.

“Charlize Theron maybe, or Margot Robbie,” Mike suggested, to which Zara replied, “Or Justin Timberlake’s wife. Obviously I look very similar to all of them.”

Mike has previously spoken about his and his family’s close relationship with the Queen.

Speaking on his eldest daughter Mia’s spotlight-stealing moment in the Queen’s 90th birthday portrait, Mike told Good Morning Britain, “It just happened at the right time. She was being a bit naughty. The Queen got it quite right when she told her, ‘Just hold the handbag now’ and she did that.

“It ended up being a great photo for her. It just turned out to be the right photo at the right time and it will be something we’ll always cherish, I think.”
