Police have been called to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's US mansion at least nine times, according to official figures.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle haven't had the smoothest transition into their Southern Californian mansion since they purchased the $14.7 million property last July.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have had police officers called to their Montecito home at least nine times, according to official figures. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office responded to multiple calls from the house relating to phone requests, alarm activations, and property crimes, the PA news agency has revealed.

While most of the police alerts were concerning alarm activations, one particular phone call was made to report a much more serious matter.

On Christmas Eve 2020, police arrived at Harry and Meghan's home after the couple reported the alleged trespassing of an unknown man. The officers were back at the house on Boxing Day to arrest the man in question after he returned to attempt to invade the royals' home once again.

Nickolas Brooks, 37, has since been identified as the intruder. The Ohio native later revealed he doesn't fully remember the incident, telling the Sun, "It was a foggy period of my life. I didn’t even know where I was. I think I was high at the time."

The news of the trespassing emerged following Prince Harry's claims that the Royal Family cut his security team after he and Meghan moved to California. In the couple's bombshell Oprah interview last month, the Duke of Sussex revealed that he had been forced to fund his own security following his withdrawal from royal duties.
