Following Britney's emotional plea to end her 13-year-long conservatorship on June 23, fellow artists including Mariah Carey and Britney’s former boyfriend Justin Timberlake, shared their support for the singer. Celebrities across the globe sent messages expressing their concern for Britney and their frustration at the way she has been treated by those in charge of her affairs.

In Britney's long-awaited court appearance, the musician opened up about the "abusive" restrictions she alleges she must adhere to: Britney's forced IUD cannot be removed; she has not been allowed to marry her boyfriend, Sam Asghari; she has been forced to take medication and perform against her will; all while others, including her father, have controlled her nearly $60 million estate.

"Anything that happened to me had to be approved by my dad," she said. "I just want my life back. It's been 13 years and it's enough."

In a personal nod to Britney's impassioned plea, her long-term boyfriend Sam wore a #FreeBritney shirt ahead of the hearing before posting a photo of a lioness on his Instagram stories, allegedly a nod to the strength she displayed in coming forward.

Even past flames have shown their support for Britney. Justin Timberlake, who dated the singer in the early 2000s, spoke out in her defense.

"Regardless of our past, good and bad, and no matter how long ago it was… what’s happening to her is just not right," he wrote on Twitter.
