When she was in her early twenties in 1951, the Queen met President Truman. This was only a year before she became Queen when she was known as Princess Elizabeth.
The only President in the last 70 years to not meet the Queen was Lyndon B. Johnson. Former President Johnson never made an official visit to the UK during his time in office and therefore didn't officially meet the Queen.
The most recent President that the Queen has met with is former President Donald Trump. The former president and his wife, Melania Trump had tea at Windsor Castle in 2018. In 2019 they were also invited for a formal state visit to London's Buckingham Palace.
Following the meeting, former President Donald Trump told Fox News, "There are those that say they have never seen the queen have a better time, a more animated time.”
He went on to say, "We had a period where we were talking solid straight,” he said. “I didn’t even know who the other people at the table were. I never spoke to them; we just had a great time.”
Although this will be the first time that President Biden meets the Queen, this won't be the first time that he meets a member of the British royal family.
In 2017, President Biden met Prince Harry when he accompanied President Barack Obama as his Vice President to the Invictus Games in Toronto, Canada. The Invictus Games were founded by Prince Harry and serve as an international sporting event for wounded and injured military service members.
Due to the Pandemic, travel has been restricted but now the President and the Queen can finally meet safely in the UK.
