The Queen took to social media today to share series of rare photographs, shared in honor of International Dog Day and some royal fans couldn't help but notice how much one of her relatives looks like a member of the Middleton family.

In a post on the official Royal Family Instagram account, various photographs of the Queen's relatives from centuries passed, as well as snaps of her younger self, were shared.

"On #InternationalDogDay take a look through some of our favourite photographs in the Royal Collection that feature some of The Royal Family’s canine partners throughout history," a caption beside the upload said.

As well as young Princess Elizabeth and her sister Princess Margaret with a Corgi, photos of the likes of Queen Victoria, Queen Alexandra and George VI were in the mix.

But it was a shot of the Queen's grandfather, George V, that caught the attention of followers, with many pointing out a strange resemblance to James Middleton.

The second photo in the carousel shows George V with a pug way back in 1895.

Fans took to the comment section to point out that he looks bizarrely like Kate Middleton's brother, who is also a huge dog lover, in the picture.

James, who married his wife Alizée Thevenet last year, speaks openly about his struggles with clinical depression and how his bond with his dogs has helped his mental health.

James and Alizée live in a lavish home in the Berkshire countryside, nearby to Carole and Michael Middleton, along with James' six spaniels beloved spaniels, Ella, Zulu, Inka, Luna, Mabel and Nala.
