Sarah Ferguson is proving that despite being in the public eye - she's just like any other new grandmother.

·   The Duchess of York posted a picture of her daughter, Eugenie, with her husband and new son August yesterday

·    Sarah gushed about how proud she was of her daughter and how happy she was to welcome their son into the family, in an Instagram post.

·     In more royal news the Queen is set to break a long-standing record - set by her own mother.

Sarah Ferguson took to Instagram yesterday to share pictures of her new grandson, hours after her daughter Princess Eugenie named him.

The Duchess posted three photos of her daughter and husband Jack Brooksbank, along with their new member of the family - August Philip Hawke. Next to the photos she wrote: "As Grandparents, The Duke and I are thrilled and blessed at the arrival of our grandson August Philip Hawke Brooksbank."

She went on to add: "He is a beautiful blessing and a bringer of such love and joy to all our Family. I am so proud of Jack and Eugenie, they are and will be wonderful parents."

Just hours earlier, Princess Eugenie had revealed, on her own Instagram post, the name of her son, writing: "We wanted to introduce you to August Philip Hawke Brooksbank."

The Duchess of York's post had over 60,000 likes, with many congratulating her on being a first-time grandmother.

Eugenie's post yesterday, which also pictured her with her new son, went on to say: "Our hearts are full of love for this little human, words can't express. We are excited to be able to share these photos with you.⁣"

The couple also had other royal seals of approval - as the Instagram accounts for Prince William and Kate Middleton liked their post, along with Prince Charles and The Queen's account.

Princess Eugenie also revealed that their son's middle name was Philip - after Prince Philip, who remains at King Edward VII's hospital, having been admitted on Tuesday evening after feeling unwell.
