Princess Anne’s birthday message from the Queen contains a sweet nod to her “dutiful” nature as fans likened her to the monarch.

Despite recent rumors that Princess Anne could take a “back seat” in the Royal Family when Prince Charles becomes King, she’s continued to showcase her dedication to her royal duties in recent months. Found by a study to be the most hard-working royal of 2021, the Princess Royal’s schedule has remained as packed as ever, with her attending everything from Holyrood Week to the Commonwealth Games and sailing a boat in Southampton at a Platinum Jubilee celebration. 

Now the Queen has paid tribute to her only daughter on August 15th as Princess Anne celebrates her 72nd birthday. And Princess Anne’s birthday message from Her Majesty could be seen to honor her hard-working nature.

Taking to social media on Princess Anne’s birthday, the official Royal Family account shared a heartfelt post in tribute, writing, “Wishing The Princess Royal a happy birthday today!"

Forming part of this message was a sweet picture of the Princess Royal taken at Buckingham Palace, beaming in a statement lilac hat. Back in May, the Queen’s daughter wowed in spring-time florals as she hosted a Garden Party as Patron of The Not Forgotten Association, which was attended by over 3,000 guests from military organizations, charities and care homes.

The Queen is understood to have given permission for the event to be held at her London home, though sadly she didn’t appear at any of the annual Garden Parties in 2022.

Instead, many of the Queen’s children, including Princess Anne, stepped up to host and attend them in her absence. The choice of photo for Princess Anne’s birthday message could be seen to highlight her devotion to her duties as well as her key role in supporting the monarch, whose new job description describes her as being “greatly assisted” by other royals.

Fans were also quick to remark upon Princess Anne’s hard-working nature after seeing the Queen’s birthday message to her, with one responding, “Wishing a very happy and healthy birthday to the amazing, dutiful Princess Royal”.

A second echoed this sentiment as they declared, “Happy Birthday Princess Anne thank you for all the hard work and dedication xx”.

“Like Her Majesty, an excellent member of the family and a great public servant,” another person commented.

Princess Anne’s commitment to her royal responsibilities could be seen to mirror that of the Queen. And according to body language expert Darren Stanton, the way Princess Anne conducts herself in public is even “strikingly similar” to the monarch. 

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo, he claimed, “Our values and beliefs are what governs our behavior, so as Princess Anne has followed her mothers belief and her protocols, it’s unsurprising for her body language to echo that of the monarch’s.”

“She also generally emulates the body language of the Queen in respect of the way that she walks and when sitting, her posture is strikingly similar to that of the Queen,” Darren later added.

So it seems like Princess Anne has followed the Queen’s inspiring example when it comes to her behavior at royal engagements and events as well as echoing the dedication of her mother. Princess Anne’s birthday message could be seen as a wonderful celebration of her hardworking nature as she turns 72.
