Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall have been spotted out wearing a pair of unique reusable face masks to show their support towards a special cause.
The Prince of Wales and wife Duchess Camilla have spent this week visiting Northern Ireland and have been making sure to stay safe in face masks while they’ve been out and about.
Sharing photos of the royal couple carrying out engagements in Northern Ireland on Instagram, Clarence House explained the meaning behind the Duke and Duchess’s special choice of face masks.
‘The facemasks worn today by The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall in Northern Ireland were made by seamstresses that have been helped through the @turquoisemountain Textiles programme,’ Clarence House wrote alongside the stream of photos of the royal couple.
‘Turquoise Mountain is a charity founded in 2006 by The Prince to revive historic areas and traditional crafts, provide jobs, skills and a renewed sense of pride.’
Giving some background on the organisation, Clarence House continued, ‘The charity is working with women weavers across Myanmar to bring their unique textiles to markets across the world, securing livelihoods for them and their families.
‘Turquoise Mountain has now built over 50 small businesses in Afghanistan, Myanmar, and the Middle East, supporting a new generation of artisan entrepreneurs.’
We’re looking forward to seeing more of the Duke and Duchess’s fashion choices while they’re out and about!
