Kate Middleton paid homage to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, during her trip to the Eden Project in Cornwall on Friday.

Kate Middleton never got to meet Princess Diana, but her spirit lives on in the Cambridge family's everyday lives.

The Duchess of Cambridge paid a sweet but subtle tribute to the late Princess of Wales on Friday by wearing a bracelet that used to belong to her husband's mother for a royal engagement in Cornwall.

Kate, 39, wore an elegant white dress for an evening with world leaders and teamed it with a special accessory—what looks like a three-strand pearl and diamond bracelet that once belonged to Princess Diana.

Prince William and Prince Harry naturally inherited their mother Princess Diana's jewelry and their respective wives, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, can often be seen wearing items that once belonged to Diana.

The Princess of Wales wore this particular bracelet during a trip to Hong Kong in 1989, where she attended the gala opening of a cultural center.

Just like Kate, Princess Diana also teamed the bracelet with an elegant white dress—embellished with rhinestones and finished the look off with a gorgeous tiara.

While the Duchess of Cambridge sadly never got to meet her mother-in-law, we know that the family work hard to keep Prince William's mother's memory alive.

Back in March Kate shared a poignant Mother's Day tribute to all those who have suffered bereavement and revealed the Cambridge children make a card every year to remember their granny, Diana.

A closer look at the children’s cards to Diana proves just what a big part of their life Princess Diana still plays—despite her tragic death in 1997.

On his card Prince George wrote, “Dear Granny Diana, happy happy mothers day. I love you very much and think of you always. Sending lots of love from George xxxx”

Princess Charlotte referenced her father, Prince William, and just how much he misses his mother.

She wrote, “Dear Granny Diana. I am thinking of you on mother’s day. I love you very much. Papa is missing you. Lots of love Charlotte xxxxx”
