Hilary Swank announces 'miracle' pregnancy with twins at 48
Hilary Swank revealed that she and her husband are expecting two children together in an exciting TV interview on Wednesday
Hilary Swank has announced that she is pregnant with twins at 48, calling the life-changing news 'a total miracle.'
The US actor revealed on Wednesday that she is 'so happy' to be expecting two babies with her husband, Philip Schneider.
Speaking on Good Morning America, Hilary confirmed that she is pregnant at the age of 48 after 'wanting' to start a family for 'a long time.'
“I’m going to be a mom – and not just of one, but of two," she said, prompting an excited, "Oh, really?" from host Robin Roberts.
"Yeah, I can’t believe it," a visibly chuffed Hilary replied. The exciting announcement, which comes a couple of years after it was confirmed that a PS: I Love You sequel was in the pipeline, was met by a round of applause from the presenters and audience inside the TV studio.

It's understood that the Million Dollar Baby star, who has been married to 49-year-old Philip since 2018, is in the second trimester of her pregnancy. Hilary does not currently have any children but has hinted that she may expand her family in the past.
"I feel that I’m very maternal in the people that I care for and all the sentient beings I have around me – my dogs, my horses, or just the human beings," she told the Daily Mail UK in 2020.

In the same interview, Hilary condemned the criticism childfree and childless women in society can face.
"I feel like so much of the time women who either choose not to or can’t have children are somehow seen as not maternal or not mothering and it is a conversation that needs to be had, because… I’ve heard a lot of women say that they’ve been told, “Oh, you’re kind of a failure.” Or, you know, “Didn’t you come here to procreate?”' she said. "There are so many different ways to procreate!"
Shortly after appearing on Good Morning America, Hilary shared more details about her baby news on Live with Kelly and Ryan. The Academy Award winner revealed that she needed to make costume adjustments on her new drama, Alaska Daily, recalling how she 'cut' her jeans to accommodate her growing tummy.
She also called the news she was pregnant with twins 'such a blessing,' before adding, "It’s a total miracle. It’s unbelievable."
