Duchess Camilla reveals royal obsession at a recent engagement as she tours a bric-a-brac area during the pre-Jubilee Big Lunch at Emmaus Mossley Homelessness Charity in Manchester.
- Duchess Camilla took on a solo royal engagement in Manchester on May 3, 2022.
- At this event, the Duchess of Cornwall revealed that she has an unusual hobby.
- In other royal news, Meghan Markle's animated series 'Pearl' ditched by Netflix before it even began.
It has been revealed that Camilla Parker Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall, has an unusual hobby and enjoys collecting royal memorabilia. This strange interest was revealed when she visited a bric-a-brac and spotted an antique teapot.
The Telegraph (opens in new tab) reported that Camilla announced, "There’s a really nice teapot here for anyone who collects them," the Duchess added, "I wish I had a bit more time here. It’s a great place to get presents if you have the time."

The Duchess then spotted a mug that was produced in celebration of the Queen's silver jubilee in 1977. Camilla commented, "I see you’ve got a nice jubilee mug. I am going to buy that! I have a whole collection, believe it or not."
She then revealed that she had an eye for a good deal as she told onlookers, "see, I told you, plenty of bargains if you have the time."
Later the Duchess had the opportunity to see a 14-foot-high puppet that will be part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations and join the pageant scheduled for June 5.
Speaking about the upcoming celebration, the Duchess commented, "I am thrilled to get everybody here today to celebrate the jubilee weekend, when I hope you will be having an even bigger lunch on the day." She added, "the aim is 10 million people, that’s what we are hoping. It’s a lovely way to celebrate, it’s a lovely way to get to know your neighbors and to have a lot of delicious food and chat."
Although the Duchess has a collection of royal memorabilia from past events, there will be more memorabilia available for Camilla to collect ahead of the Platinum Jubilee.
However, it was reported just earlier this year that some of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee souvenirs were ruined by embarrassing misprint after a translation error meant that there were plates printed that read, "To Commemorate the Platinum Jubbly." Despite this slight error, there will be plenty more opportunities for the Duchess to add to her growing royal collection.
