Dementia has become one of the most feared diseases of our time. That’s why we’ve decided to join forces with Alzheimer’s Society to try to raise more awareness and understanding.
Dementia is the biggest challenge facing our health and care system, and most of us fear that we, or our loved ones, may be affected. Dementia – and the effects, not just for those who receive a diagnosis but also for their families, friends and employers – is a relatively hidden issue. At least 1.5 million people are affected by dementia in the UK and by 2020, there will not be a single family in the UK that is not affected.
Today we are delighted to announce that we have become a media partner for Alzheimer’s Society, the leading dementia support and research charity, which works to support people to live well with dementia today and fund research to find a cure for tomorrow.
How you can get involved
There are many ways to support Alzheimer’s Society and we will be highlighting these in the magazine and online in the course of the year.
In the coming weeks we, together with Alzheimer’s Society, will be telling you all about our Cupcake Day event to takeing place in June and encouraging you to take part. Find out how you can get involved here.
There are also other ways you can get involved. Here are the ways you can join us!

There are currently over 1.5 million Dementia Friends and Alzheimer’s Society aims to increase this to 4 million by March 2020. Become a Dementia Friend at dementiafriends.org.uk
