Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas thanked the eagle-eyed viewers who got in touch about a lump they thought they had spotted under her arm.

The Strictly Come Dancing  judge said that following their messages of concern, she sought medical advice and that tests revealed her hormone levels are, "not right." In light of this, Shirley's doctor recommended that she get some scans to investigate the issue further.

In a post on her personal Instagram account, she said, "So blood work back. A little concerning so dr is making an appointment at kings to check certain odd things happening in my body I won’t go into the details at the moment."

The former ballroom champion continued, "Any way to each and every one of you who started me on this road thank you so much. I’ll keep you all updated each and every one of you."

Reassuring her legions of fans she ended the post, "I'll keep you all updated each and every one of you. Remember health is wealth so I'll be on top of these issues for the time being."

The post also contained a video message in which the 61-year-old said that tests had shown her testosterone levels to be, "ultra-high", her estrogen levels "extremely low." She revealed that she needs to have scans on her adrenal glands and ovaries.

Fellow Strictly Come Dancing stars, celebrities and fans shared there support under her post. Motsi Mabuse commented, "Take care of yourself ❤️❤️."

John Whaite, whose Strictly Pirates of the Caribbean performance left Shirley speechless added, "Sending you so much love Shirley ❤️❤️."

Previously, the star had her breast implants removed owing to her family's history with breast cancer. The reason for her decision was to reduce her own risk of getting the terrible disease, as implants can block the early signs of breast cancer being detected—which could be the difference between life and death.
