Selling Sunset season 5—what to expect in the new season, from Jason and Chrishell’s relationship to latest Christine drama
Selling Sunset is back for season five, which promises more luxury homes, more fashion and more drama
Netflix struck gold with Selling Sunset, their original reality series following the lives of a real estate brokerage in the heart of Los Angeles.
The show became an instant hit, with fans hooked by the glamorous and sometimes treacherous antics of the tanned, toned, and turbulent team at the Oppenheim Group.
Selling homes across Los Angeles with price tags reaching the tens and hundreds of millions, the show gives audiences an inside look at some truly jaw-dropping mansions. If you’re particularly nosy and love seeing how the other half live, this is a show for you.
Across the first four seasons of the show, fronted by actress Chrishell Stause who went through a public divorce from This Is Us actor Justin Hartley while on the show, relationships have been changed, new alliances formed and old friendships broken.
Here’s what to expect from the new season…
Are Chrishell and Jason still dating?
One of the big storylines of the new season of Selling Sunset will be the surprising relationship between Chrishell and Jason.
Though Jason is Chrishell’s boss (and the ex of her best friend, Mary), Chrishell and Jason had a brief romance.

In season five, fans will have an insight into how the romance started… and how it fizzled out.
Their relationship began in July 2021 but sadly ended in December 2021.
Why did Chrishell and Jason split?
The pair announced their separation on Instagram, with Chrishell explaining that it was because he didn't want children and she did.

Chrishell wrote, "I have tried to embrace the world I have found myself in and that includes being open and honest about my relationships.
"It felt scary and terrifying knowing that it may not end in what society deems a success and what I am ultimately looking for. But after many long heartfelt talks, I am choosing to see it as a success no matter what label is attached to it publicly."
Chrishell stated that Jason was still her “best friend”, and that they still love each other despite the fact that their “ideas for family” were not aligned.
Is Christine leaving Selling Sunset?
Whether Christine, the breakout star and ‘villain’ of the series, will come back for season six remains to be seen.

At the end of season five, it appears as if Christine might be done with the agency.
She tells Chelsea she is thinking of getting her own brokers license, and failing to attend a disciplinary meeting with Jason and Mary.
Perhaps we’ll get more answers at the reunion special being filmed for season five, a first for the show.

She joined the Oppenheim Group in July 2021 after taking some time out to have children, having previously been in real estate for five years.
When it was announced she was joining the show, Chelsea took to Instagram to tease what to expect.
“The secret is OUT!,” read the caption, alongside the promotional poster for season 5. “I’m beyond thrilled to announce that I have joined… Selling Sunset! So grateful for everyone involved, the list is long and you know who you are. The laughs, the lux, the drama, it’s all there in season 5 and I can’t wait for you all to see it!”
Chelsea is married to Jess Lazkani, a managing partner at Icon Media Direct. The two tied the knot in 2017 and have since welcomed two children together.
When is the Selling Sunset reunion?
Inspired by the infamous Real Housewives reunion shows, which brings the cast back together after the show airs to hash out issues and what was said behind people’s backs in confessionals, Selling Sunset is getting its first reunion special.
The reunion show will be hosted by Queer Eye's Tan France. It is understood the reunion will be filmed on April 24 and released on Netflix on May 6.
What time does Selling Sunset come out?
The new season is out today, April 22.
Selling Sunset season 5 officially dropped at 3am Eastern Time. All 10 episodes of season 5 are available to stream on Netflix immediately.
