Fans were jealous and supportive in equal measure. One fan jokingly commented, “I bet that feels amazing, I’ve got another week , then Brian May can have his hair back x.” Another said, “Stop taunting us here in Northern Ireland we still have no hairdressers!”
Ruth also posted a few other Instagram posts to show off her full makeover. In one video, Ruth's hair was blowdried by a hairdresser as they both donned Covid-safe face masks for the appointment. One fan thanked Ruth for setting a good example and waiting to get her hair appointment like everyone else. “ Some presenters get their roots done, and grumble about hairdressers being shut, Well we have noticed yours, your roots were dark, you have proved that you waited and have shown us it being done. You are one of the true ones!” they said.
Ruth also posted a short video to show off her new french manicure. Ruth captioned the post, “Who knew we would be so ridiculously excited to get our nails done?!! Thank you @samsnails .... great to have you back!”
Although many fans supported Ruth's day of indulgence, other fans were more interested to find out when she will be back on their screens. One fan commented, "Looking lovely....and natural......I'll be getting the same soon. Have to say though it was disappointing not to see you and Eamonn TM [This Morning] today." Another fan said, "Looks lovely....This Morning was not the same without you today...you and Eamonn are the best presenters by far."
