Lorraine Kelly may be best known for her work with ITV – but she’ll soon be a familiar face on the BBC when she hops over to BBC One to host a new wedding day gameshow.
The GMTV and Daybreak host will put her presenting skills to the test when she fronts Wedding Day Winners alongside comedian Rob Beckett.
Each week will see two engaged couples, joined by their friends and family, compete head to head to win prizes, a dream honeymoon, and an extraordinary wedding ceremony which will be broadcast to viewers at home.
And even though it’s a competition, there are no losers in Wedding Day Winners as each couple will walk away with a host of prizes, happy memories and above all married to the love of their lives.
Speaking of her new role, Lorraine said, “I am so excited about this show. There will be laughter and tears and lots of fun.
“Everyone loves a wedding, and it will be wonderful to share such a life affirming event with our couples.
“It’s a show all the family can watch together and perfect for a Saturday night.”
Her co-presenter, Rob, appeared to be more excited by the prospect of working with Lorraine.
Wedding Day Winners with the legend that is Lorraine Kelly, I was so excited that in true wedding tradition I immediately put a tie around my head and started belting out ‘Come On Eileen’ at the top of my voice.”
While this isn’t the first foray over to the Beeb for Lorraine, she has made rare appearances such as guest-presenting Never Mind The Buzzcocks in 2011, this will be her first prime-time show on the channel.
Wedding Day Winners will air in spring 2018.
