Jada Pinkett Smith begins tattoo sleeve ten years early—'tomorrow is not promised'
Jada Pinkett Smith has unveiled her stunning new tattoo in an exciting update
Jada Pinkett Smith has showcased a brand new tattoo ahead of her 50th birthday next month, proving it's never too late in life to get inked.
The American actor unveiled an intricate design of a Hindu goddess on her forearm on Sunday, revealing she intends to surround it with more tattoos over the next decade.
"I always said I would get a sleeve at 60 but tomorrow is not promised. Soooo … I’m starting to build my sleeve now!" she captioned the Instagram post.
Wear a khaki green jumpsuit and gold jewelry, Jada also gave a shout-out to mystic female forces, adding, "Repp’n the Divine Feminine journey within and without. ✨Jai Ma✨ #MataSita #Allat #Oshun #QuanYin".

As well as mentioning the subject of her tattoo, Mata Sita, who is the Hindu goddess of love and simplicity, Jada also tagged the Arabian goddess Allat, the African goddess Oshun, and the Buddhist deity of mercy, Quan Yin.
Beneath the stunning creation lies Jada's lotus tattoo, which she shares with her mother Adrienne Banfield Norris and daughter Willow Smith. The intergenerational trio, who appears weekly on their family chatshow, Red Table Talk, chose the delicate flower for its symbolic links to spiritual enlightenment and growth. It was this experience that convinced Jada that she wanted to expand on the tattoo and commit to a full sleeve.

This is far from the first time The Nutty Professor has switched up her look. Just last month, Jada Pinkett Smith debuted a shaved head after decades of changing hairdos. The decision to cut off all her hair was inspired by Willow, who helped her mother "let go" in celebration of her upcoming 50th birthday.
