Princess Charlotte In Pictures

To celebrate the first birthday of Princess Charlotte – who was born on 2 May in the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, we look back at the fun and adventures the youngest royal has already packed into her short life.

Kate and William released four candid shots of Princess Charlotte to mark the day, taken by the Duchess herself. The adorable shots taken at the couples home show Charlotte clearly enjoying her first royal year.

Pretty in pink Charlotte looks like she is having fun pushing her walker across the lawn.

Cute as a button! Wearing a sweet little blue bow Charlotte leans against a chair.

Three stunning new portraits were released to mark the Queen’s 90th
birthday, including this beautiful shot of her with two grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren.

The image, taken by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz at Windsor Castle last month,
shows Queen Elizabeth with two of her grandchildren and three of her great-grandchildren – with Princess Charlotte perched on Her Majesty’s lap.

In March, the Cambridges went on their first holiday as a family of four to the French Alps. The
Duke and Duchess, Prince George and Princess Charlotte looked the
picture of happiness as they played together on the slopes.

A Kensington Palace spokesman said: ‘This was their first holiday as a family of four and the first time either of the children had played in the snow.’

In December 2015, Kensington Palace tweeted the Duke and Duchess’ official Christmas card photograph. It was all smiles as the youngest royals posed for the first time with their parents.

In November, the Duchess of Cambridge thrilled the world by releasing two adorable candid pictures of Princess Charlotte.

The photos were taken by the Duchess herself at Amner Hall, the family’s ten-bedroom mansion.

One of the new images sees Catherine and Prince William’s little girl laughing as she plays with a soft toy puppy, perhaps a nod to the Cambridge’s beloved pet dog Lupo. The other shows Prince George’s younger sister pulling an inquisitive expression while sitting on a charming chair upholstered in green and cream gingham fabric.

Catherine dressed Charlotte in a pastel pink cardigan, pale woollen tights and a floral dress complete with a ruffled collar for the occasion.

Although the pictures were initially intended to stay private, the 33-year-old and her husband decided to share them as a way of thanking the public for showing interest in their daughter.

‘The Duke and Duchess continue to receive warm messages about Princess Charlotte from all around the world and they hope that everyone enjoys these lovely photos as much as they do,’ a statement from Kensington Palace said.

A royal aide added: ‘The Duke and Duchess are very grateful for the support they have received when it comes to their children and wanted to share these very charming pictures taken by the duchess. It is something they intend to continue to do.’

It’s the first time we’ve seen a glimpse of Princess Charlotte since
her July christening at a church on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate in

Celebrity snapper Mario Testino, who’s worked with everyone from Kate Moss to Gisele Bundchen, captured the service on camera.

The very first snaps of Princess Charlotte highlight just how quickly she has grown in the past year. On May 2nd 2015, Catherine Middleton was admitted into the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital. After two hours of labour, the Duchess gave birth to a healthy 8lb 3oz girl. On May 4th, gun salutes were fired at Hyde Park and the Tower of London to celebrate, and later that day, the baby was named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.
