Loose Women star Denise Welch has opened up about a recent change in her life, that she has decided to welcome with open arms.
The 60-year-old star penned an honest social media post, as she shared a picture of herself holding up a senior railcard, issued to people aged 60 and above.
And rather than getting down in the dumps about the reminder of her age, Denise revealed that she is embracing it, taking the positive view that she is lucky to have reached her sixth decade.
She wrote, ‘Well……it comes to us all if we’re lucky!!! I’m embracing it!!! Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter!!! #seniorrailcard 🙈🙈🙈’.
Denise’s 22,800 followers couldn’t agree more, with many commenting to reveal how they are embracing their own ages too.
One wrote, ‘Let’s not forget: free prescriptions!!’, while another commented, ‘I have one it’s very useful lol! 😂’
Others praised Denise’s candid admission, saying, ‘Rocking 60! Take those perks & yes, age is but a number’, and a second fan commented, ‘No one would ever guess your age, you look fabulous, but you earned the extra perks so go get it! 👏😆’.
While a third said, ‘Nice one!! Getting older is a privilege denied to many people. Embrace it! Xxx’.
In the past, Denise Welch has opened up about how she’s happier than ever – especially after meeting her now-husband Lincoln Townley in her 50s.
In an open letter to her younger self, written by the Loose Women panellist in Happiful magazine, she said, “Don’t worry about not finding love again…
“You will find the greatest love of all in your 50s. You probably think that’s a bit gross at 16, but believe me, it’s a love like no other. And he’ll be a young’un!
“Together you will be strong and defeat your demons as one.”
