It's certainly been a busy few weeks for Carol McGiffin.
The 58-year-old recently re-joined the Loose Women panel after five years away from the show – and now, she’s revealed that she’s celebrating a very special milestone with her fiance, Mark Cassidy.
Over on her Twitter, she shared that she and Mark will soon be celebrating their 10th anniversary together.
Carol shared an adorable picture of herself and Mark, alongside the caption, ‘Celebrating 10 years together (in a few weeks) with our 10th visit to our second favourite city in the world #Palma #Mallorca @cassola21’.
Fans and friends of Carol seemed delighted by the news – and disbelieving that it had been so long since the couple got together.
Sherrie Hewson, Carol’s fellow former Loose Women panellist, simply wrote, ’10 years !!!!!!xx’, while another fan commented, ’10 years!!! Where’s that gone! Congratulations!! X’.
Plenty of Carol’s other followers shared their messages of congratulations too – one said, ‘So glad to see you still happy together 😊’, and another wrote, ‘Congratulations to you both. Hope you have a fab time 💕’
Mark and Carol got engaged back in 2008, but are still yet to tie the knot, with Carol admitting the pair haven’t been in a hurry to finalise plans.
However, speaking to Best in 2017, the TV star admitted they do now want to set a date very soon. She revealed, “Of course [the wedding is still on]! It’s definitely going to happen next year. Although, to be fair, I have said that for the last five or six years.
“Look seriously, it’s important to us – we’ve lost family this year, and that cemented that we want to be together and married.”
At the time she even revealed that she was still deciding between three wedding dresses – and contemplating surgery ahead of their big day.
She confessed, “I still have three dresses to choose from for my wedding.
“I might even get my boobs fixed. But that’s major surgery – it’s like three months’ recovery.”
So with Carol previously admitting she wants to tie the knot in 2018, could she and Mark actually be heading to Palma to finally marry in the sunny Spanish city? Only time will tell…
