It was the news that devastated the nation back in 2016 – The Great British Bake Off hosts Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry were no longer to judge the beloved baking show together following it’s move to Channel Four from the BBC.
But could there still be hope that everyone’s favourite duo might be back on screen together again soon?
It’s been said that US network executives were so impressed with Mary’s new programme, Great American Baking Show which premiered on the other side of the
pond last month, that they are reportedly keen to get Paul on board for
a potential second series of the show.
After 50-year-old Paul decided to follow the Bake Off to Channel Four in October last year, the pair were split up, as Mary, along with hosts Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, decided to resign from their roles instead. And although the baking stars were reunited on the Christmas Bake Off Special, we all thought we’d seen the last of Paul and Mary on TV together.
But apparently, executives over in the US have said that the pair’s on-screen chemistry – and the fact that American audiences will love their British accents – means that the duo could be making a comeback. The source has also said that the show would be likely to be shown on a UK channel too, due to the fact that there would be a huge interest from British audiences.
This is one rumour we really hope is true…
