Laura Honey
Laura has always been a homebody in the truest sense of the word. For the past five years, she’s turned that instinct into a career, curating and writing about homes in every waking (and sometimes sleeping, if it's bedroom-related hour.
Laura’s professional journey began at The White Company, still one of her favourite places to shop, where she honed her eye for timeless design and quality craftsmanship. From there, she moved into magazine journalism, writing for leading interiors titles including Homes & Gardens and Livingetc, before bringing her expertise to woman&home. Her work blends rigorous testing with a warm, reader-first perspective, whether she’s reviewing the latest kitchen appliance or exploring the trends shaping modern living.
Before journalism, Laura read English at University of Oxford. Alongside voracious reading and writing for student publications, she supported herself with a series of hands-on roles that, perhaps surprisingly, laid the perfect foundation for a career in homes.
She trained as an SCA-certified barista (which explains her forensic approach to coffee machine reviews), spent summers working in her family’s pizza business (meaning no pizza oven that falls short of Italian standards will pass her tests), and worked for the heritage fragrance house Penhaligon's, where she indulged her love of scent, set up her own perfume studio and qualified as a Master Perfumer. That rare combination of practical experience and sensory expertise gives her reviews a distinctive depth particularly when it comes to kitchen kit and candles.
