Scotland Doors Open Days 2011

  • Lauren Beeslee

Take a peak around some of Scotland’s best-kept secrets as they open their doors to the public for one weekend

Ever wondered what's behind the closed doors of that stately home or idyllic cottage? This weekend is your chance to find out. For two days only - 24 and 25 September - over 900 of Scotland's best architectural treasures will be opening their doors to the public as part of the annual celebration of heritage, Doors Open Days. This year the event is celebrating its 21st year, so expect it to be better than ever.

Sites such as the art-deco style St Andrew's House in Edinburgh, the picturesque Cruck Cottage in Aberfeldy, and the Campbeltown Community Organic Garden are all taking part and, for the first time this year, the Heart of Midlothian FC will be allowing the public a glimpse inside - a must for football fans of all ages!
