FILM: The September Issue
In 1988 British-born Anna Wintour became editor-in-chief of American Vogue, transforming it into the most respected gospel of the fashion industry. But what goes on behind the doors of this global phenomenon? And is Wintour really the ice-queen she's often portrayed as being?
Thanks to award-winning director R J Cutler, we can now find out. He went behind-the-scenes of Vogue for nine months, intimately filming the hectic preparations for the largest ever September issue. From chaotic call-ins to glamorous photo shoots, Anna Wintour's demanding nature is apparent - although she does occasionally let her guard down revealing a dry sense of humour and impeccable wit.
Other names making an appearance include creative director Grace Coddington and Sienna Miller - the month's cover star - and of course the team of dedicated staff working flat-out around the clock.
The documentary is full of fun and comedy, and for all you fashionistas out there, it features admired designers such as Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Karl Lagerfeld. Not to be missed.
