The fifth episode of the 2021 series saw Noel Fielding don yet another fabulously flamboyant shirt and Paul Hollywood hand out more sought-after handshakes, alongside the new Bake Off contestants battling it out in the iconic tent, in a bid to win the coveted Bake Off winner's cake stand.
But who left The Great British Bake Off this week and who won star baker? If you forgot to tune into week five's German week episode, we've got all the details on the fifth elimination of the series 2021.
Who left The Great British Bake Off last night?
Freya was the fifth contestant to leave The Great British Bake Off this series, becoming 2021's fifth unlucky baker to be knocked out by the judges.
Vegan baker Freya, 19, failed to impress the judges enough with her German creations was unable to keep her place in the tent for next week's pastry challenges.

Freya burst into tears when the news that she was leaving the tent was broken, but Paul highlighted just how proud she should be of herself for making it half way through the competition at such a young age.
Freya admitted that she felt her lack of baking experience was beginning to show but added that her time on Bake Off was one of the best experiences of her life.

Bake Off fans took to social media to share their sadness after Freya was eliminated, with many commending her sweet nature and for bringing her vegan baking into the tent.
"She was amazing. Well done Freya for getting so far and making delicious vegan bakes. We'll miss you," one wrote.
Another added, "Exceptional for sticking to her approach and ideas, and her age! You could sense a little drop in confidence recently but, my word, you've got a bright future, Freya!"
"An inspirational young lady we will miss her in the tent," one more chipped in to add.
Who won star baker last night?
Giuseppe won star baker for German week in episode five of this series. After impressing Paul and Prue with his incredible Amarena Cherry Yeast-Leavened Cake Showstopper, 45-year-old Giuseppe, who was born in Italy and now lives in Bristol, was chosen as the fifth star baker of the series.
After surprising himself by coming first place in the technical challenge, he was awarded the star baker honor for a second time.

Week six on The Great British Bake Off 2021 is Pastry week!
The bakers will have to do their best to avoid soggy bottoms as they create cronuts and build impressive pies in the sixth week of Bake Off 2021, having made it past the half way mark.

Who won Bake Off in 2020?
Peter Sawkins took the 2020 Bake Off crown, becoming the youngest ever winner of The Great British Bake Off at the age of 20.
The University of Edinburgh student went up against fellow bakers Laura Adlington and Dave Friday in the final but pipped them to the post with his impressive custard slice signature, walnut whip technical challenge and epic dessert tower for his final showstopper.

What is Peter Sawkins from Bake Off doing now?
Since the 2020 Bake Off, Peter is thought to have continued his studies and is set to complete his finance degree this year.
He is also preparing to release his first ever cook book in October, entitled Peter Bakes.
The recipe book is full of tasty recipes including gluten-free options and promises to feature "100 irresistible recipes for teatime treats, showstopper cakes, yummy puddings and more".

Sharing the lovely career news on Instagram, Peter told fans, "I feel as excited as I look on the cover that I can finally share this.
"The book is full of my favourite sweet recipes to bake and eat. Every recipe is written as standard but also has gluten-free amendments, so you won't miss out on any recipes if you're gf."
