Transport yourself to the Caribbean by making a batch of these delicious rum and gingerChristmas cocktails. Our rum and ginger cocktail is packed with delicious ingredients to give it a festive twist including warming honey, cranberry juice and a grating of fresh nutmeg.
We used a golden rum called The Dappy Share, which is a blend of rums from Jamaica and Barbados, to make this irresistible cocktail, but any good, aged rum will work. The rum and ginger cocktail packed with flavoursome ingredients which give it a tropical taste. Fresh lime juice provides a sharp contrast to the rum, while the fizz from ginger beer and optional Prosecco give it a real kick. We’ve used 10ml of ginger wine in the drink, but if you can’t get hold of any just add 10ml of extra Prosecco instead.
Christmas means countless mince pies and chocolates, so this is the ideal Christmas cocktail recipe if you’re looking for a party drink to provide a sharp, zesty contrast to all that rich food. It will transport you to the Caribbean on a cold and grey day, but those tropical flavours also make it the perfect drink forBBQsor sultry summer nights.
It's up to you how you serve up this Christmas cocktail. Try pretty champagne saucers instead of flutes for a vintage feel. Rocks glasses or high-balls (add plenty of ice to turn this into a longer serve), would look great, too. You could even try serving it in a glass punch bowl and add a vintage ladle to serve.
