Rare footage of Princess Diana embracing Prince Harry in an utterly adorable moment from his childhood is touching the hearts of royal fans after going viral online.

Special, old footage from Prince Harry's childhood has gone viral on TikTok, showing a heartwarming moment between him and his mother, Princess Diana.

In the short clip, shared by @castroedits on the video app, Diana can be seen greeting young Harry with open arms, before he runs to her.

Diana then scoops up her second-born son up into an embrace before the footage cuts to another video of the two of them walking hand-in-hand.

The video was filmed on the same day Diana famously took part in the mother's race on the summer sports day at seven-year-old Harry's pre-preparatory school.

Princess Diana, who lived at Kensington Palace with Prince William and Prince Harry at the time, ran barefoot to compete in the race for moms, giving it her all and almost nabbing first place.
