In the interview with Oprah, Meghan addressed rumours she made Kate cry during the lead up to her wedding to Prince Harry. The rumours suggested that Kate and Meghan argued because of a disagreement about bridesmaid dresses. Oprah asked Meghan to clarify whether this rumour was true or false and Meghan replied, "The reverse happened."
Meghan revealed that in fact, Kate had made her cry, but the rumour had become muddled. Meghan said, "I don't say that to be disparaging to anyone, because it was a really hard week of the wedding, and she was upset about something."
The Duchess of Sussex went on to explain that she and Kate were friends and had repaired their relationship following the incident. "But she owned it, and she apologized and she brought me flowers and a note apologizing," said Meghan.
Penny Junor, a respected royal biographer told People that the revelation in the interview has hit home for William who is very protective of his wife. “William is very protective of Kate and can get very angry," said Penny.
The biographer went on to reveal that William would sooner be attacked himself than let his wife suffer the brunt of negative press. "For Meghan to name Kate in a negative light is worse than being attacked himself," Penny revealed.
In the interview, Meghan also spoke about how she empathized with Kate when she received negative comments in the media about waiting around for William. However, she did distinguish that the rudeness that Kate faced is not the same as the racism that she faced from the media.

“Kate was called 'Waity Katie,' waiting to marry William. While I imagine that was really hard - and I do, I can't picture what that felt like - this is not the same," said Meghan.
The Oprah interview has continued to cause rifts within the royal family with rumors that Prince Harry has reportedly spoken with Prince Charles and Prince William but conversations were ‘not productive’. Since the interview Prince William has also spoken up about royal family ‘racism’ and his future relationship with brother Harry.
