Prince Philip died in April at the age of 99

Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge have revealed that their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—are all missing their late great grandfather following his death last month.
- The royal couple shared with a fan their sadness as a family over the loss of Prince Philip.
- They explained in a letter that they "will all miss their much loved grandfather and great-grandfather".
- This royal news comes after Prince Charles revealing that his father's death has left an empty seat at the table.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge recently sent a thank you note to a royal fan, who had written to them to share her condolences following the death of the Duke of Edinburgh. In the message, they revealed that their three young children are missing their late great-grandfather.
Prince Philip died on 9th April 2021, leaving behind his wife of over 70 years, the Queen.
The royal fan '@Missroyalreply', shared the response from Kate and William on their Instagram account, revealing a typed note from the couple alongside a picture of the late Prince Philip.
The message read "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge thank you for your kind words following the death of the Duke of Edinburgh. Their Royal Highnesses have been incredibly moved by the many thoughtful messages they have received in recent weeks."
It then went on to say how much Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will all miss their "much-loved" great-grandfather too.
It said, "They will all miss their much loved grandfather and great-grandfather, but your message has provided great comfort at this difficult time."

The funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh, held on 17th April, was one of Catherine and William's first public appearances in months following the coronavirus lockdown in the UK.
Since then, and following the official period of mourning for the Duke, the couple have begun to up their official royal engagements once more, as the UK eases slowly out of restrictions.
Most recently, the couple visited mental health organizations in Wolverhampton, where they both took part in some fun activities such as archery and football.
