It comes as no surprise that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have a thoughtful approach to gift-giving. When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex ring in their anniversary, they celebrate with traditional presents that are incredibly sentimental.

• Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's third wedding anniversary is May 19, 2021.

• According to The Knot, the third year of marriage is marked with a leather gift. Leather is meant to symbolize security.

• In other royal news, it seems Princess Diana's wedding dress designer is not pleased with The Crown's representation of the iconic gown.

If their philanthropy is any indication of their gift-giving, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry surely go the extra mile.

To ring in their wedding anniversary, the duo participates in the traditional approach where a couple exchanges symbolic presents that are meant to represent their growing relationship. The first 10 years of traditional wedding gifts are as follows, according to The Knot.

Traditional wedding gifts

First-year anniversary: paper
Second-year anniversary: cotton
Third-year anniversary: leather
Fourth-year anniversary: fruit or flowers
Fifth-year anniversary: wood
Sixth-year anniversary: iron
Seventh-year anniversary: copper or wool
Eighth-year anniversary: bronze or pottery
Ninth-year anniversary: willow or pottery
Tenth-year anniversary: aluminum or tin

People reports that Meghan wrote out her wedding speech for Harry and framed it for their first anniversary. They participated in the cotton tradition for their second anniversary, though sources were not able to identify the exact gifts. Time will tell what the leather gifts look like!

But their third year of marriage is not only meaningful because of its security and shelter. It's the year they'll add on a new family member! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's little girl is due any time now (though they haven't revealed an exact due date). Royal experts suspect Harry and Meghan's daughter will be named after Prince Philip, while others believe Harry and Meghan will honor the Queen with their name selection. Plenty of theories are circulating, but the royally obsessed will have to be patient!

In the meantime, relive the couple's big day and see what Meghan Markle's makeup artist said about Prince Harry on the day of their nuptials.
