Kate Middleton is being 'seriously considered' to take over this prestigious role from the Queen
Kate Middleton could be bestowed a huge honor by the Queen, after Prince Andrew was stripped of the key royal role

Kate Middleton could take on a prestigious new role within the Royal Family, replacing Prince Andrew as the next Colonel of the Grenadier Guards in a groundbreaking move.
- A royal insider revealed that Kate Middleton is likely to take on the position after Prince Andrew was stripped of his military titles in January.
- The Duchess of Cambridge could become the first female Colonel of the Grenadier Guards in 80 years, preceded by Princess Elizabeth, who was appointed in 1926.
- This royal news comes as the Queen reveals that an epic sculpture is to be unveiled outside Buckingham Palace in honor of her Platinum Jubilee.
It looks like the Duchess of Cambridge could soon be taking on more responsibilities within 'The Firm' by taking on the prestigious role of Colonel of the Grenadier Guards.
Prince Andrew, who inherited the role from his father The Duke of Edinburgh was Colonel of the Grenadier Guards up until 2017, but the Duke of York was stripped of his responsibilities military titles and royal patronages, including his association with the Grenadier Guards, a month before the civil sexual assault case brought against him in the US by Virginia Giuffre was settled in court. The role returned to the Queen by default is now said to be being bestowed upon the Duchess of Cambridge.

A senior royal source told the Mail Online that "it's being seriously considered" that the Duchess of Cambridge will become the first female Colonel of the Grenadier Guards in 80 years.
This news has surfaced as Kate is scheduled to stand in for the Queen at the Sovereign’s Parade at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. With the Queen having involvement in selecting colonels, Kate's position at Sandhurst is a good indication that the Duchess will receive an honorary military role. Catherine would be the tenth member of the Royal Family to take on the role, following in the footsteps of Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh.
Earlier in January 2022, it was reported that Kate Middleton is the royal that the Grenadier Guards most want to replace Prince Andrew as their colonel, according to The Times.
An insider from the Grenadier Guards told the publication, “From straw polling through the ranks, they would all love it to be Kate.
