Sheryl Sandberg engaged five years after tragic passing of ex-husband

Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg has announced that’s she engaged!

The COO of the social networking website took to her own social media page to make the exciting announcement.

Revealing that she is set to tie the knot with her marketing CEO beau Tom Bernthal, the businesswoman shared an adorable photo of the two as she gushed about her new husband-to-be.

‘Engaged!!!’ Sheryl wrote alongside an elegant black and white photo of the loved-up pair gazing into each other’s eyes. ‘@tom_bernthal, you are my everything. I could not love you more’.

Friends and followers were thrilled for the social media chief operating officer, who was widowed back in 2015, with the post quickly raking up over 60,000 likes and thousands of comments with messages of congratulations.

‘Sooooo happy for you and Tom Bernthal and your families,’ wrote one. ‘You have a wonderful relationship built on love, admiration, respect, shared values, and fun and I know you will build a beautiful life and marriage together.

The happy news comes after the Facebook COO lost her husband Dave Goldberg back in 2015 after he suddenly collapsed with a heart condition while the pair were holidaying in Mexico.

Sheryl shares two children with her late husband, whose brother introduced the social media expert to her current fiancé.

Tom, who is father to three of his own children, popped the question after less than a year of dating, reportedly presenting Sheryl with a ring containing five diamonds to represent their five children.
