Ruth Langsford has shared a heartbreaking video in tribute to her mum amid the coronavirus outbreak.
The This Morning host took to her Instagram account yesterday with a photo of her cuddling her mother outside in the sunshine, wishing her a lovely Mother’s Day, as she wrote, ‘Wish we could be out in the sun together today but sadly not to be this year.
‘Happy Mother’s Day to all you wonderful Mums out there, but especially to mine….the best in the world ❤️’.
However the ITV presenter then uploaded a touching video that left followers in tears.
Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, Ruth was unable to spend Mother’s Day with her elderly mother, so instead she visited her outside a downstairs window.
Ruth shared a video of her tapping on the outside of one of her mum’s windows and wishing her a happy Mother’s Day as the pair air kissed each other.
Speaking to her mum through the window, the TV host said, “this is odd isn’t it,” adding, “we miss you”.
And captioning the post, ‘Locked down but not forgotten! Happy Mother’s Day Mum….love her! ❤️,’ Ruth left her followers in tears as the sweet clip raked up hundreds of thousands of likes.
Fellow This Morning host Rochelle Humes and author and TV presenter Giovanna Fletcher both left red heart emoji symbols, while Loose Women panellists Saira Khan and Andrea McLean, wrote, ‘Ahhhhh Ruth ❤️❤️❤️ made me bloody cry 😢’ and ‘Ah Ruth that made me cry 😢’.
‘This does make me a bit sad to see Ruth,’ commented one fan. ‘It must be very difficult for you and your lovely Mum. I’m glad you found a way to see her at least and I’m sure she’ll love you even more for that.
‘A very difficult time for us all. Sending lots of love! 💖😢’.
Others added, ‘How lovely ❤️’, ‘Oh Ruth ! ♥️❤️♥️’ and ‘Awwww ❤️ 😍 Happy Mother’s Day to you too! I waved at my Mum from the window too ❤️’.
