  • This year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing is now well underway, but it seems that some may already be thinking about next year’s series.

The Strictly line-up is highly anticipated every year. This year, viewers eagerly awaited the line-up from September onwards, and each announcement was undoubtedly huge news.

But it seems as though producers may already be thinking about their next round of famous faces now. And reportedly, they’re eyeing up a huge star from another one of TV’s biggest reality competitions.

According to The Sun, producers at the show are keen to sign up former Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain.

Nadiya has had huge success since winning the show in 2015, having recently won a role presenting the BBC’s new cooking show, The Big Family Cooking Showdown. In the past few years, she’s also baked for the Queen, has brought out a range of cookbooks, and fronted her own cooking show on the BBC.

And eagle-eyed Strictly fans will have spotted that the cooking legend was even in the audience of the live show this past weekend.

A source allegedly told the paper, “Nadiya is a big fan and loved getting the star treatment at the weekend. They pulled out all the stops and made her feel at home.

“Producers have openly said how much they would like to get Nadiya on the show.”

Nadiya herself hasn’t yet commented on the speculation, but did respond to a message on Twitter from a woman who said that she wished the rumours were true.

Nadiya simply replied, “Don’t you start xx” – suggesting she’s heard of the rumours. But of course, she didn’t actively deny them…!

Fans responded to the message, with many stating that they’d love to see Nadiya on the programme.

One wrote, “YES YES YES PLEASE!!!”, while another said, “Please! You’d be wonderful!”

If Nadiya did take part in the dancing show, it wouldn’t be the first time a former Bake Off winner has joined a reality competition. Just recently, 2016’s winner, Candice Brown, signed up for the revival of ITV show Dancing On Ice.

It’s just been revealed that Candice has been paired with professional skater Matt Evers on the show. And her training is now well underway, in preparation for the show’s return in 2018.

So could Nadiya really be the latest Strictly star? We’re definitely crossing our fingers!
