Marks & Spencer announces plans to shut a further 110 stores - will your local M&S be affected?

By Amy Hunt
Over the last few years, Marks & Spencer have shut down over 30 of their UK stores, as part of the company's restructuring process.
And now, they have announced plans to shut down 85 more by 2023, just four years from now.
According to Sky News, M&S have also explained that it will close 25 of their smaller food halls.
However, it has not yet been revealed which stores or food halls will be closing, so only time will tell if your local will be shutting down.

So far, the 30 stores that have closed include outlets from all over the country, including Covent Garden, Bournemouth, Northampton, Portsmouth, Walsall, Slough, and Basildon.
In January, a further 17 store closures were announced, including the shops in Hull, Bedford, Sutton Coldfield and Weston Super Mare.
But never fear, because it's not all tricky news for Marks & Spencer fans. The company is planning to develop 75 larger food halls across the UK in the future.
It has also been reported that they will be working on and expanding their Per Una clothing range, which recently won positive reviews after revealing some new releases.
The news has come in the light of the revelation that the company's pre-tax profits had fall by around 10%.
Of the news, Marks & Spencer's chief executive Steve Rowe has said, "We are deep into the first phase of our transformation programme and continue to make good progress restoring the basics and fixing many of the legacy issues we face."
He went on, "M&S is changing faster than at any time in my career - substantial changes across the business to our processes, ranges and operations and this has constrained this year's performance, particularly in Clothing & Home," Rowe said.
"However, we remain on track with our transformation and are now well on the road to making M&S special again."
