By Lucy Buglass
With the nation celebrating Father’s Day last weekend, Lorraine Kelly joined in the social media tributes with a throwback photo.
However, it was a bittersweet moment for Lorraine Kelly, as her Father’s Day post revealed that her dad was sadly being looked after in hospital.
Taking to Instagram, she wrote, ‘Happy Fathers Day to my dad. Just 18 years old in this photo. Grafted all his days and now in being looked after in Hairmres hospital.'
Lorraine went on to thank the hospital staff for caring for her dad during this difficult time.
She added, ‘Thanks to all staff there for taking care of him. Hopefully he will be out soon and back home. Haven’t seen him and my mum since his birthday in early March. Like so many families forced apart by covid19. Xxxx’

Plenty of fans took to the comments to send well wishes to Lorraine, hoping that her dad had a quick recovery.
One wrote, ‘Lovely picture, hope your Dad is home with your Mum soon 😘 x’
Another added, ‘A lovely picture of him holding you ! Sending you both love and hoping you get to see him real soon 🥰’
A third wrote, ‘❤️❤️❤️ let's hope he will be back home soon xoxo’
And a fourth added, ‘Aww Lorraine that is not easy for you. Hope you see your dad very soon. Thank you for keeping us all happy through lockdown each morning. You have been stoic.’
Lorraine has struggled a lot in lockdown, and previously opened up about being apart from her daughter during the pandemic.
Like many of us, she can definitely relate to being apart from family. We hope she and her dad can reunite soon!
