Kate Garraway enlisted the help of some celebrity friends to throw an amazing birthday party for her son.
The TV presenter has had a difficult few months with her husband Derek’s ongoing coronavirus battle – but it seems Kate was still determined to make sure her son Billy had a very special 11th birthday.
Kate called on her celebrity friend Myleene Klass to help set up the I’m A Celeb-themed garden party.
Myleene shared a number of clips on Instagram of the two families getting ready for the birthday bash.
Pictures on social media showed an impressive balloon installation at the front door and a tipi with sleeping bunks – similar to those on the hit ITV show. They also showed camouflage print duvets, blankets, cushions, slippers, lanterns and tin food containers for guests to eat from.
Kate also recruited fellow I’m A Celeb contestant Roman Kemp to provide entertainment for the occasion.
The Good Morning Britain presenter posted on Instagram, ‘So I was super nervous about Bill’s birthday this year – we usually have a family do with grandparents and a few of his friends but obviously this not possible.
‘So we are seeing grandparents separately but wanted to do something for him and his mates in the garden.
‘Derek is so brilliant at this, organising treasure hunts and boys own adventures so mentioned to @myleeneklass really didn’t want to let Bill down and did she know anyone with a tent we could borrow in case it was wet. Little did I know what I was unleashing! She is in her element!
‘ At 8.30 this morning she arrived with Apollo in tow to supervise the brilliant @sleepyteepeeuk to set up the most amazing jungle camp ever!!!’
It seems the jungle theme went down a treat with Billy, too.
She added on another Instagram post, ‘When Billy woke up he could not believe his eyes!!!’
The birthday party follows Kate’s return to GMB earlier this week.
With Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid taking a few weeks off, Kate and co-host Ben Shephard held the fort on Monday’s show.
