Julia Roberts has opened up about kissing Ticket to Paradise co-star George Clooney in front of his wife Amal, calling their on-screen smooch 'kind of ridiculous.'

The Academy Award-winning actress spoke candidly about the experience in her latest interview, admitting that the scene wasn't so easy to orchestrate.

Julia, 54, and George, 61, have teamed up for their new movie, Ticket to Paradise, a romantic comedy about a divorced couple who follow their adult daughter to Bali to stop her from getting married. The 2022 film sees the Hollywood veterans join each other on the big screen for the sixth time, with their first collaboration dating back to Ocean's Eleven in 2001.

Speaking to TODAY on Monday, the pair didn't hold back when host Hoda Kotb asked them what it felt like to kiss your "dear, dear friend" on camera.

George admitted it was made awkward by the presence of his wife, Amal Clooney, and their five-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella.

"That [kissing scene] was the first day they came to visit," Julia revealed, before joking, "It's like – 'Get 'em out, get 'em out!'"

"It's really bad," George agreed, giggling at the memory before making a hilarious impression of his children. "What are you doing, Papa? What is that?'"

Luckily, the kids didn't have to witness the intimate scenes between their father and Julia, whom they adorably refer to as "Auntie Juju."

"They didn't see any of it," the Pretty Woman star confirmed through fits of laughter. The banter between the long-time chums continued, with Julia then making a quick dig at what it was like to kiss the Up in The Air actor.

"It's kind of ridiculous," she added, comparing their scripted lip-locking to "kissing your best friend." George feigned offense at this, quipping, "You know I was a two-time 'Sexiest Man Alive?'"

Julia and George also discussed what it was like to have children at an older age during the interview. The Erin Brockovich star had her first kids, twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, with husband Danny Moder in 2004, while George was 56 when he welcomed his twins with Amal in 2017.
